About me
Hi, I’m Stuart Armstrong, an experienced, professional drum tutor for over 20 years and performer for over 24 years. My qualifications include ATCL, DipMusT, ICMA, Grade 8 Drum Kit London College of Music, Grade 8 Percussion London College of Music.
Since starting out as a pipe band snare drummer at the age of 10, I have taken part in drum competitions all over the country including the Scottish, British, European and World Championships.
I have performed in one of the busiest function bands in Scotland, playing over 60 functions, corporate events and weddings a year.
During my career, I have taught in private music schools and colleges, so am up-to-date with current exam syllabuses. I am adept at working with anyone, youngster through adult, at any skill level, beginner through to advanced.
The hundreds of pupils I have worked with have achieved a 95%+ pass rate across the four exam board syllabuses that I teach.

My music taste is very broad. I enjoy listening to rock and pop music like The Foo Fighters, Muse and The Killers. My influences drums wise are Dave Grohl, Travis Barker and Buddy Rich.
I will teach any pupil, any song they would like to learn, from music theatre pieces to up to date chart music. All styles can be covered.
I am very passionate about teaching the drum kit to anybody that is willing to learn.
By ensuring that lessons are fun and enjoyable, and always catering to a pupil’s needs, I strive to have the pupil to take hands on approach in their own learning.
I am always willing to listen and am very open to new ideas and approaches to learning and teaching, but mainly I always have the pupil’s best interests at heart.
Adaptability is important, and I work tirelessly to tailor lessons to the pupil’s individual needs.
I use the latest equipment and technology to help make my lessons run as smoothly as possible and more importantly make them as fun and enjoyable for the student as I can.
